I was a 90's kid!!!!

I saw this on a Bulletin and I HAD to post it somewhere I could come back and remember. So I know this may not apply to everyone but you know what??? It applies to me. In 1990 I was 9 years old. In the year 2000 I turned 19. So this TOTALLY makes sense to me. It's very long, but like I said, I posted this so I would remember and show my kids one day! SO here goes.....

Just because you were born in '92 doesn't mean you're a 90's kid.

It's not like you could remember the original Simpsons. I am sorry but three conscious years of the nineties just wont cut it.

You're a 90's kid if:

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "SIKE!"

You can sing the rap to "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air"

You remember when Kurt Cobain, Tu Pac, River Phoenix, and Selena died.

You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey from "Blossom" and that "How Rude!" comes from Stephanie from "Full House"

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.

You remember reading "Goosebumps"

You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, wax off"

You have pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

you danced to "wannabe" by the Spice Girls, Females: had a new motto, Males: got a whole lot gay-er. (so tell me what you want, what you really really want.)

You remember the craze then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...

Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? was both a game and a TV game show.

Captain Planet.

You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the red* Ranger were meant to be together.

To the last sentence you said.....hey...Tommy was the green* ranger!!!!

*later to be white

When playing power rangers with friends you fought over who got to be who............and still all ended up being tommy.

You remember when super nintendo's became popular.

You remember watching home alone 1, 2 , and 3........and tried to pull the pranks on "intruders"

"I've fallen and I can't get up"

You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates

Two words... Trapper Keeper.

You ever got injured on a Slip 'n' Slide

You wore socks over leggings scrunched down

"Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack, all dressed in black, black, black, with silver buttons, buttons, buttons, all down her back, back, back" SHE ASKED HER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER FOR FIFTY CENTS CENTS CENTS TO SEE THE ELEPHANTS PHANTS PHANTS JUMP OVER THE FENCE THE FENCE THE FENCE
he jumped so high high high he touched the sky sky sky and he didnt come back back back til the forth of july ly ly he jumped so low ow ow he stubbed his toe toe toe and thats the end end end of the elephants show show show

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players

You remember New Kids on The Block when they were cool

You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell"

You played and or collected "Pogs"

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere

You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles

NANCY DREW AND THE HARDY BOYS WERE THE BEST MYSTERY BOOKS

Yikes pencils and erasers were the stuff!

All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.(pencils.notebooks.binders.etc.)

You remember when the new Beanie Babies were always sold out.

You used to wear those stick on earings, not only on your ears, but at the corners of your eyes.

You remember a time before the WB.

You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

You know the Macarena by heart.

"Talk to the hand" ... enough said

You thought Brain woud finally take over the world

You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"

You remember when everyone went slinky crazy.

You remember when razor scooters were cool.

when we were younger:

Before the MySpace frenzy.

Before the Internet & text messaging.

Before Sidekicks & iPods.

Before MIKE JONES

Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX.

Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.

WHEN LIGHT UP SNEAKERS WERE KOOL

When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.

When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.

When we recorded stuff on VCRs & paid $3.50 for a movie.

When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off our walkmans.

When 2Pac and Biggie where alive.

When the Chicago Bulls were the best team ever.

Way back.

Tag.

Get Over Here!!!! means something to you.

Hide-n-Go Seek at dusk.

Red Light, Green Light.

Heads Up 7 Up.

Playing Kickball & Dodgeball until your porch light came on.

Hopskotch.

Slip-n-Slides.... now there are just ghetto ones

Tree Houses.

Hula Hoops.

Reading R.L. Stine's Goose Bumps.

HELLO....HOT WHEELS!!!!!

"POWER OF LOVE" BY CELINE DION..ONLY COUPLES COULD SKATE TO THIS.

The annoying Nano Pets & Furbies.

Running through the sprinklers.

That "Little Mermaid"

Crying when Mufasa died in the Lion King.

Happy Meals where you chose a Barbie or a Hot Wheels car.

Getting the privilege to sit in the front seat of the car.

Drinking Sqeeze It "Squeeze The Fun Out Of It"

CAPRI SUN

Watching Saturday Morning Cartoons in your PJ's still wrapped up in your TMNT, Power Rangers, Barbie, Fairy Princess comforter.

Hey Arnold, Doug, Rugrats.

The original Power Rangers

Or what about:

The Secret Life of Alex Mac.

Ren & Stimpy.

Double Dare.

Rocco's Modern Life.

AAAHH!! REAL MONSTERS.

Wild & Crazy Kids.

Clarissa Explains it All.

CAMP NOWHERE

salute your shorts(CAMP ANAWANA)

Are You Afraid of the Dark?

The original cast members of all that.

Kenan & Kel.

"CITY GUYS"...ROLL W/ THE CITY GUYS

doug.

magic school bus.

Nick Arcade.

flash forward.

pete and pete.

legends of the hidden temple.

hey dude.

dinosaurs.

pinky and the brain.

Sailor Moon.

blossom.

hangin with mr.cooper.

wishbone.

bill-nye the science guy.

MR RODGERS!!!!

Who could forget Snick? & Nick @ Nite with Bewitched, I Dream of Jenie, The Facts of Life & I Love Lucy.

Where everyone wanted to be in love after watching The Wonder Years.

or nick jr. with face

gulah gulah island

little bear

under the unbrella tree

PEE-WEE!!!

The Big Comfy Couch

Kool-Aid was the drink of choice.

Wearing your new shoes on the first day of school.

Eurika's Castle!!!

Class field trips.

POGS

When Christmas was the most exciting time of year.

When $5 seemed like a million, & another dollar a miracle.

When you begged to go to McDonalds for dinner everyday.

When Toys R Us overuled the mall.

Go back to the time when:

Decisions were made by going 'eeny-meeny-miney-moe'.

Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming 'do over!'

'Race issue' meant arguing about who ran the fastest.

Money issues were handled by whoever was banker in 'Monopoly'.

act like you didn't watch afro-king BOB ROSS paint trees on T.V.

It wasn't odd to have two or three 'best' friends.

Being old referred to anyone over 20.

A chance to skate as a couple at the local roller rink was like winning the lottery.

Scrapes & bruises were kissed & made better.

It was a big deal to finally be tall enought to ride the 'big people' rides at the fair.

When playing Nintendo was the hardest thing ever.

When Ninja Turtles ruled the world.

DID I DO THAAAAAAAAAT???

smud and yak back. skip it and pop it.

"Welcome to Good Burger, Home of the Good Burger, can i take your oorrrrder?"

Before we realized all this would eventually disappear

who would have thought you'd miss the 90's so much!!!!!

Your a 90's kid when you read this and smiled and laughed at least 5 of these.

Thanks God! Kellie went home!

I have to go ahead and post this. I can't help it. I couldn't stand Kellie Pickler and was irritated that she was still on this show even though she has totally screwed songs up. So I am relieved but now that she is gone, it is hard to tell who is going to win. As long as she didn't. I am Thankful that some people were on my side, such as Kristen, at Mommy Does It All. This was a pretty big deal for me. I know this is about an all around good person, but I still think of American Idol as a singing contest. No matter how snotty Kat is, she still has a Fantastic voice. And everyone who thinks Elliot looks funny, well he has an awesome voice also. I like to see who did the best vocal for that night. I don't think some sappy sob story should win America over. I can't sing worth crap but my dad has told everyone I am dead.....does that mean I should be on American Idol and get sympathy votes?? Please do not leave anything negative in my comments. I am stating the truth. If you like Kellie, well say you do, but NO negative comments...only I can do that because this is MY blog, LOL.

If you have something to say, oh well, I think America said enough tonite. With that, sorry Pickler, your time was coming. I am sure your cute face and ditsy personality will gain you a spot somewhere in Hollywood. I am sure we will still see you around, as long as I can change the channel.

Playrooms

Lately I have been wanting to rearrange my house since we have decided not to move to Austin. My kids have seperate bedrooms and the themes are John Lennon in the baby's room and Sports for my older son. Well sports was a mistake because he has no interest whatsoever in any sports. He is very interested in art. Anyhow, I now want to have them share a bedroom, a place for them to sleep and keep clean. When I do this I am going to transform the other room into a playroom. I want it colorful and fun and I am having problems coming up with ideas. I am not the worl's best decorator and my kids know how to make the room a mess.
Many moms have sugested a jungle or safari theme which sounds like fun. If anyone out there has some good decorating ideas or knows where any pic online of safari or jungle rooms are, PLEASE let me know. I have been searching and searching and am about to give up. I did see some really cute stuff at target. They have a new safari line but just a rug is $30.00 and I can see all the stuff adding up quick. I am a stay at home mom and on a budget so that is a little extreme for me.

MIA

I know I haven't been on much. The past two weeks have been a little more hectic than usual and I am not used to it. I have also been working and updating my website when I do have time to get on.
Last week my oldest son had field day. He had an Easter/Spring party at school on Tuesday and today we spent all day at the Fort Worth Zoo during a fireld trip. Also on Tuesday I registered him for Kindergarten. When I get home and have time I am cleaning and making some plans for Easter.
We are now not moving to Austin so I am trying to rearrange the house. I promise to visit everyone and post a meaningful topic tommorow. Enjoy the rest of Holy Thursday and God Bless!

Friends

My best friends in life have been people who can be themselves and I know I can be myself when around them. Most people that I am not friends with in this world are people who think they are better no matter what their beliefs.

So are their really right or wrong opinions??

I will also admit that I am not a perfect person, wife, mom, or friend. I try to be, but nobody is perfect. I have my faults just like anyone, but I also have a heart and if you give your whole heart to anyone or anything, then that is the best you can do. That still can make you a big person. Everyone in this world is different and share different opinions. If one person has one opinion, that doesn't necessarily mean that the other is wrong. It also doesn't mean that they are shooting down your beliefs. Even if someone's opinion is wrong in your eyes, that doesn't mean they would still not stand beside you thru anything.
I cherish everyone's opinions whether I believe they are right or wrong. Someday their opinion may have some type of value to me. But in the meantime, I feel like I should be able to express my opinions to some extent. I have felt like I can't do that sometimes. I have learned if they don't like it, then they were never worth being part of my life anyway. To those people I feel sorry for.

A friend to me is someone who offers a shoulder to cry on, is there for me thru thick and thin, who respects me and values my opinions, who always knows to have coffee ready when I am on the way to their house, who calls and sends me emails often to see how I am doing, who is there if I need to chat or vent, who I can trust with my deepest secrets, who can be loyal to me and my family, and most of all....someone I would turn around and do this right back to with no hesitation and no regrets.

I want to give Thanks to all my true friends. Ones who have stuck by me thru anything and who have been there for me. The ones that have valued my opinion whether it be right or wrong and the ones who have made my day brighter when it was dull. I know a lot of them aren't in the blogging world but I will certainly send them a nice e-card today. For those who read my blog, thanks for commenting and making me feel a little special everyday. I will be visiting everyone today. For all my friends from NC, I will put this on my MySpace Blog. For ones that don't even get on the internet, I will make time to call you today. Right now I should Thank Kristen at Mommy Does It All for being a great All Around Friend, who matches everything above. LOL.

I couldn't think of ANYTHING to write about today so I just started typing. I guess I have just been thinking about all my friends lately and I love Ya'll!!

If you have a friend out there who you haven't talked to in awhile, try catching up with them this week. Live like their is no tommorow, they may never know what they mean to you.

A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow. — William Shakespeare
